Flood Risk Analysis in Potential Points, Zerin City in Erbil as a Case Study

The city of Erbil, the capital Kurdistan Region-Iraq, is exposed to frequent floods and cause human material losses. current research analysis as a case study on Zerin City, which was flood last session 2021-2022. based using different Hydrologic software digital elevation models, soil data, rainfall data land use were used in order determine boundary catchment area, area extension plain, depth flood, water velocity through hydrologic modeling. results showed that there big similarity between real modeled flood. Some natural streamlines (valleys) have been filled remaining unable pass excess flow generated by storm. agricultural lands not ploughed due late rains this season. Accordingly, increase curve number CN (the estimated 79) used, inundation, depth, modeling storm return period 50 years City has done are scientific tool can be assess damages useful for decision makers.
